Students may experience session timeouts when leaving their computers idle for extended periods during MobyMax lessons (e.g., bathroom breaks). The issue is that MobyMax's system doesn't display a logout notification when students are already in an active lesson.
As a result, students may return from breaks, assume they're still logged in, continue working, and discover their progress wasn't recorded when they complete the lesson. This causes frustration and demotivation.
What's Happening?
When you step away from your computer during a MobyMax lesson, the system may automatically log you out after a period of inactivity. However, MobyMax doesn't always show a clear logout message when this happens mid-lesson.
- You might return to your screen and see your lesson exactly as you left it.
- Everything appears normal, so you continue working through the problems.
- When you finish, you discover none of your work was saved because you were actually logged out the entire time.
We're working with MobyMax's development team to fix this issue, but until they resolve it, students need to take preventive steps to protect their progress.
What Should You Do?
-
Refresh after breaks. If you step away from your computer, refresh the page when you return:
- If still logged in, you'll continue where you left off without losing progress.
- If logged out, the refresh will take you to the login page, where you can sign back in and resume.
- Work in focused sessions. Try to complete lessons in focused sessions to minimize the risk of timeout.
- Log out before long breaks. For planned longer breaks (e.g., lunch, switching subjects, etc), proactively log out of MobyMax. Progress is automatically saved upon logging out, ensuring that no work is jeopardized. Simply log back in when you are ready to resume your studies.
