This article covers two related problems while working on handwriting activies using Scribble: writing input problems, where the strokes do not appear correctly, and grading problems, where the writing appears but Scribble marks it wrong.
Tip: If Apple Pencil options such as Squeeze, Double Tap, Hover, or Haptics feel distracting, turn them off in Settings > Apple Pencil.
If strokes are missing or broken
- Confirm that the Apple Pencil is the correct model for the iPad, and that it is properly paired and charged.
- Check that the Pencil tip is installed correctly and is not worn down.
- Clean the screen, restart the iPad, and reopen Scribble.
Tip: If the issue persists after checking the above, consider a paper-feel screen protector or writing-surface protector on the iPad.
If the writing appears but is marked wrong
Scribble checks stroke formation, sizing, and spacing. If the writing appears on screen but Scribble rejects it, collect evidence and share with Support.
- Take a screenshot or short video showing the written attempt and the result.
- Ensure the activity, lesson, and prompt are visible.
