Some apps expect you to use the link in your learning hub to open the right work for you. If you open the app from a bookmark, saved tab, or the app’s home page instead, you may face problems.
What this means
Depending on the app, the link in your learning hub may open:
- The exact lesson or activity, or
- The app’s main page, where you continue from there
However, if you bookmark the app in your browser and attempt to bypass the learning hub, you may:
- Open irrelevant lessons that you weren't supposed to be accessing, including:
- Lessons you already completed,
- Lessons with errors (which we're not assigning to anyone while we improve them), or
- Just different lessons that you shouldn't be working on yet.
- Feel locked out since the app doesn't intuitively present you the next lesson.
What you should do
- Go back to your learning hub.
- Find your assigned work for that app.
- Open the app from that assigned link.
- If the app asks you to sign in:
- Use the login details shown next to the assignment (if available), or
- Sign in with your school account via Google SSO.
FAQ
Do all apps open the same way?
No. Some apps open the exact lesson right away. Others open the app first and let you continue from there.
Can I still open the app directly?
Sometimes yes. If the link comes from your assigned work, that is usually the correct place to start. However, bookmarking instead of following the learning hub's latest link can lead you to miss changes.
What if I see only locked activities in the app?
That can happen when you open an app outside the assigned-work path. Go back to your assigned work and launch the app from there first.
If it still doesn’t work
If the same issue happens after starting from your learning hub, please contact Support and share:
- Your assigned work in the learning hub, and
- The page that opens in the app.
This way, we can compare the assigned path with the page that opened.
