Why should I open learning apps from my learning hub?

Some apps expect you to start from your learning hub so they can open the right activity and receive the expected activity information. If you open the app from a bookmark, saved tab, or the app’s home page instead, the app may still open, but it may not open the right work or report your work correctly.

What this means

If you bypass your learning hub by using a bookmark, saved tab, search result, or the app’s home page, one of two things may happen:

  1. You may not be able to work correctly.
    • You may open lessons, but:
      • You have already completed them.
      • They shouldn't be assigned to you yet.
      • We are not assigning them due to errors other students reported.
    • Or, you might be completely locked out because the app does not show your next activity from that page.
  2. You may be able to work, but your work may not be recorded.
    • Your learning hub may not receive the expected activity, progress, XP, etc.
    • Even if progress appears, it may be partial since we might lose data.

What you should do

  1. Go back to your learning hub.
  2. Find the assigned work for that app.
  3. Open the app from that assigned link.
  4. If the app asks you to sign in:
    • Use the login details shown next to the assignment, if available, or
    • Sign in with your school account through Google SSO.

Starting from your learning hub helps make sure you open the expected activity and that your work follows the expected tracking path.

<supportagent>If the issue persists after the student starts from the learning hub, agents should follow the internal siblings:

FAQ

Do all apps open the same way?
No. Some apps open the exact lesson right away. Others open the app first and let you continue from there.

Can I still open the app directly?
Sometimes the app may open directly, but that does not always mean it opened the right work or recorded the activity in the expected place. The safest place to start is your learning hub.

What if I see only locked activities in the app?
That can happen when you open an app outside the assigned-work path. Go back to your learning hub and launch the app from the assigned activity first.

What if I already did work after opening the app directly?
Go back to your learning hub for your next activity. If the work you already completed does not appear where you expect it, share the activity name, the approximate time you worked, and exactly how you opened the app.

If it still does not work

If the same issue happens after starting from your learning hub, share:

  • The assigned work you opened in your learning hub,
  • The page that opened in the app,
  • What you expected to happen, and
  • What happened instead.

This information lets us compare the assigned path with the page that opened.
